Things are slow...
Yes, it's that time of the year, the part that you get through to feel like you've earned spring. The weather has been "teh suXXorz" this winter; cold, windy, and no snow. That might change tomorrow, if some of the promise holds out. I think it's going to fizzle though.
Anyway, preparations continue and continue to evolve for Terri to retire. She's dropped a couple of resumes, and discovered more days off that she has to take. We're starting to get more excited about our trip to Hawaii the first week in April.
I've been helping out the last three weeks at the Legion Post, with Bingo on Monday mornings. I'm just doing concessions, but I like the fact that I'm doing something to help out. As a result, I've also been recruited into the local VFW Post. No doubt my mad concession skills were noticed! I may see about getting over there once a month or something, I don't want to spread myself too thin, but something to get me moving on Monday mornings is good for me. Besides, some of the bingo ladies are a trip!
I used to think of all these guys as just the old guys in the funny hats, but now that I've gotten involved, I see that they truly are service organizations, even if that's not what some of the members are all about. The old guys in the funny hats are though, and that's why I'm involved. We've been asked to march in the St. Patrick's Day parade here in Manassas, so that'll be fun again.
Let's see, what else? Jason's District Choir performance was this past weekend, and they sounded fantastic! Terri and I thought that the middle school level didn't sound as good as in the past, but the high school mixed choir was strong. A couple of Jason's friends made All State, with the auditions being held during District rehearsals. Unfortunately Jason won't be able to try out until his Junior year. They are apparently wary of voice change issues. I guess I was lucky, mine changed early and smoothly, so I have a hard time relating to this restriction.
I guess that's about all for now. Same stuff, different day.
