If one is good, two is better, right?

*Weeble is settling in nicely, playing and eating well. But we had a problem, two adults, two kids, and one bird.
With Jason working on his room (he finished, yay!) Terri and I took Sam to the bird shop after we picked up prescriptions. We knew that they didn't have any more green cheek conures, but that there was some birds that were similar. As it turned out the three they had together were painted conures, which are apparently fairly rare in the pet trade. Cute little buggers they are! The painted is slightly smaller than the green cheek, and similar in coloration and personality.
We ended up taking one of them home and have tentatively named him *Picasso. I thought that since Weeble had only been here a couple of days, they might get along well enough to share a cage. They are also within a couple of weeks of each other in age, Weeble was hatched June 10, Picasso May 23.
On the floor they went for introductions. Some minor squabbling was quickly settled. The played a little then took a nap when we went out to eat. When we got home they were puffed up together and eager to come play. On the table they played with their hand toys and at one point Weeble picked up a piece of bright green straw and took it half way across the table to get Picasso to play too. They are instant buddies and are already preening each other.
Now it's just a matter of keeping them socialized with people.
*Names are pending DNA results, but I sorta like 'em!
